If you are looking for something to feed grain out of, a 5 gallon bucket is plenty of room. Buckets at the feedstore here are as little as $4 a piece...not expensive! My guys get barely any grain, just enough to get vitamins in them and they eat from 3 gallon flatback buckets just fine as you can see below:

feeding grain

thanks for all you guys replies. I will likely just use what I have. Actually the above mentioned 10 gallon galvanized we had some lying around the job that were going to get thrown away so I was going to use one of those but will just use what I have home :)

I have some 33 gallon and few 21 gallon for grain storage

I guess I don't get it. Why don't you want to use a regular feed bin?

hey strawberry, not that i don't want to use them it's just that I'm the type of person that if I have something handy that will work, I'd much rather make use of it than to buy something if you know what i mean. Providing it will work and not be of harm. I won't use the galvanized one's for that though as to others opinion on the matter. I do have other things around the house that will be more safe though :)
