I think it depends on the situation, horse and rider.

If I'm riding a bucking horse, or a horse that is giving me a lot of trouble yeah, I break a bit of a sweat.

If I'm on a well trained horse then I don't really because I'm used to riding multiple horses for hours throughout the day. I think once you become acclimated to riding you don't really think of it as exercise, but like anything if you do more/different types you recognize it and then it goes away again.

I think mentally is hardest on me. Always on, reading every movement of the horse, paying attention to every detail. That's what hard on me.

Physically, riding is easy but then I am an active person so maybe I cant gauge riding.

The weather can impact how tired I become when riding.

I ran to a friend's barn and got on four of her rehabs for her. It's 18F right now. Only four wasn't bad, but when I got back to the house and warm, I'm a bit sleepy. If I was out all day in the cold, I'd be tired. Tired because my body burned a lot of fuel staying warm.

In the summer when it's 90 and 100 and above and I'm out doing a lot of riding? I get tired. Tired because my body is busy cooling itself all day.
