Congratulations! Glad to hear that your husband is supportive in your horse endeavors even if he isn't too fond of our equine friends. :)

Raven is absolutely stunning! Be sure to keep us updated with photos! ;)

She's gorgeous, are you in Walking Horse country? I hope to get a gaited horse someday. Currently I am horseless as a little unsettled regarding location.

No, not in "Walker Country". We are in Ohio right now, will be moving to Michigan when I retire (3 years and counting, lol). No one at my barn knows much about gaited horses, nor do they have much interest in them. There is one other Tennessee Walker at our barn, but she is pretty much retired. This is pretty much Quarter Horse Country.

Well I am glad that he approves, she is stunning! If I was married I would be very worried about making such a large purchase without consulting my husband!

I live in MI and some day really want to get a TWH to trail ride. There is a large trail riding community that seems to mostly use gaited horses. I like trail riding, but my draft cross and I find that we wear out much faster than the gaited horses, and when they want to gait we have to trot super fast or canter to keep up.

My husband is not a horse person, but he sure likes how happy I am when I come home from a good day at the barn, welcome to the forum, so glad for you

Best day ever!. The weather is absolutley perfect today in NE Ohio. I am off on Fridays, so of course I went to the barn. Raven and I went out with 2 other ladies on the trails. She was perfect. No spooking (she does get nervous when we go out alone). Up some hills, down some hills, through water without batting an eye. I let her move out in her gait-I could tell she really wanted to run, but she stayed with me, under control. Stopped to wait for the other horses every time I asked. I am thrilled with her so far!
And I got invited to go off the farm on Sunday to trail ride at one of our local parks! I am in seventh heaven.
I guess I'd better get my housework done and cook Hubby something good for dinner. Surely he realized owning a horse means I will rarely be home, right?
