I've been gone for a while and still haven't found any place to ride.

SRSLY. Does it ever seem that life gets in the way of things you'd like to do? That's what has happened with me and riding. I decided to go back to work and have been looking for a job intensely. My search for a partial riding lease is on a hold, and this is the best time of the year to ride!

So, how is everyone else doing? Any ideas on where to work in Virginia, horse related or not?

Not sure how old you are, and I'm not from your area, but I'll generally tell anybody the same thing who's looking for a job (depending on age, university, other degrees, etc etc). Apply at all barns, fast food places, restaurants, walmart, grocery stores (some will give benefits, in my area most do), get a paper route, babysit, tack/farm stores. Or the bank, that's a good job IMHO.

If you've done university already, have a degree, try a career in that area?

Walk into places and ask if hiring, if not ask to fill out a resume and speak with the manager anyhow so they can keep you in mind for when they are hiring. Check your local craigslist as well for job postings.
