In general, how much do insurance policies cost per month?
And when you have the lessee purchase insurance do you charge an additional monthly lease fee on top of that?
I'm not 100% sure on the insurance fees per month, as none of my horses are insured currently.
There would in fact still be a lease fee on top of the insurance, because the insurance would be their call on whether or not they wanted to take it out on said horse. The insurance would simply be in place for them if the horse receives an injury in their care to cut vet costs that they would be held responsible for. If they chose not to take out insurance, they'd be fully responsible for the vet bill and not just a copay.
They would by no means be responsible for any vet bills pertaining to injuries received not in their care, yearly checkups, tooth floatings, etc.
