I feel the same way about my horses. It fills my heart with joy when they see my truck coming down the road every day and start knickering. It's like music to my ears.

Technically, I have 3 horses, husband has 1. Lately he has been stealing the heart of one of mine. I guess it's only fair since his horse will walk away from him sometimes just to follow me around. Since his horse is kept alone, I spend more time with him. He'll go out and sit with him for awhile, take him out and walk him around the yard. Our yard is 2 acres. I brush him and take him for long walks through the woods or out in an open field and sit with him while he graze. My 3 is across the road on almost 10 acres. His horse is aggressive toward the others when pastured with them. If we leave him in the pasture with them, he will run to the fence and whinny until we come get him. They can see each other, but he sure don't want to be in the pasture with them.
