Thanks so much everyone :) Counting down the days, 19 more! I went by to tractor supply to get some brushes, a new halter, and a matching lead rope. It's an adjustable and quick release halter. If it doesn't fit I can still return it, but it is starting to make it feel a little bit more real. :)

I spoke to my boyfriend's mom today, she told me his mom was Ari Flambae. Her sire was Bask Flame. She's getting his pedigree together for me. She went down to the barn where he is at today, and she said she placed him in crossties and groomed him and was giving him just general attention, and she said he stood there and just closed his eyes and soaked it up. :) I'm so unbelievably excited for this horse.

Wow what an amazing opportunity!! So happy for you!! (and a little jealous lol)

I can imagine how excited you are, not only to be gifted a horse but to have it be such a nice one from people you can trust.

FWIW you will be buying lots of "cob" sizes, if you bought a "horse" it will probably be too big but you can wait until you try it on.

I'm not sure if it makes it worse or better to have everything all ready in regards to anticipation lol.

Congrats again!

Thank you so much!! :) You are most probably right about the halter. I was torn if I should've gotten the smaller of the two before pony sizes, but I figure I'll try this one, if it doesn't work, I'll exchange it :)

I got word it'll be thanksgiving week in general, so it may be -earlier- than the 25th, so I'm just chomping at the bit! haha.

Knew a huckleberry bey Granddaughter. beautiful and adorable mare!!! Second on the halters. My lil arab's web halter is a "yearling" halter lol! Cant go wrong with a rope halter though, fits just about any horse in a pinch, at least until you can size him right. (i use a rope halter on my arab, tb and big headed paint all in the same day, they are fantastic if you are too lazy to switch out halters too lol!)

Yes! I was looking at rope halters as well. I think I'll go back and snag one too. :)
