My first show coming up?

Hello Horseforum. I am going to my first show in a weeks time and i'm taking my new horse Teddy. It is a 'ribbon day' so basically flat-work in a ring with judges in the middle. There is an initial turnout class in the beginning before the riding starts which i am aiming to place in. I am quite understandably nervous about this as it's a new experience for me so i was wondering if you could offer me any advice or share any stories of your first show and resulting nervousness :)

Also i thought i'd write a list of what i would be bring along with me just in case you readers pick up on anything i have forgotten? I also need a show name for a Teddy so i'll post a picture of him at the bottom to help you all with some ideas :) Thanks for reading!

Horse:
Grooming Tote
White plaiting bands
Bridle
Saddle
Sheep skin numnah
Girth
Halter & Lead rope
Mane and tail detangler
Finishing spray
Black hoof oil
Float rug
Hay-net
Water
Vet-kit
Shampoo/Conditioner and sponges
Baby oil

Rider:
Jacket
Shirt with stock tie
Jods
Riding boots with gaiters
Hair net
Helmet

I'll be washing Teddy the night before and covering him, plaiting the morning of the show (in a diamond plait) and hoping he'll stay as clean as possible. I can always re wash legs or tail if need be :) float is booked and is being picked up the previous afternoon and i am allowing extra time to get to the show early.

Have i missed anything?

Make sure to clean all your tack and equipment. Maybe bring extra tack like reins and sturrip leathers with you to the show. Or it just could be me that has bad luck with that lol

Agree with this. Also don't forget to bring black riding gloves. It will make you look much more "professional" in the ring if you have them on. Also just make sure your numnah is clean as well. Nothing worse than a visibly dirty saddle pad at a show! Good luck!

Your list is very thorough... good job! Maybe bring some goodies (food) for yourself too. I just have to say, your Teddy is just gorgeous!!

And a show name, hmmm...

Snow Day

Avalon Mist
London Fog

Wishing you both good luck and thank you for the smile...I LOVE dapple greys...

Please let us know how you do. And for those of us who don't know...what is a numnah? A saddle pad?

I like Earl Grey or Avalon Fog....

You'll want a lint roller for your jacket :) Also bring an extra black shoelace incase they don't have any for your back number, or bring safety pins incase the judge wants it pinned to your saddle pad.
