New, but not totally...
Hello! Just found this place and am looking around, but figured I should introduce myself. My name is Summer, as my title states, I am new, but not totally. When I was much younger I was immersed in "the horse world" as much as I could. Great friends owned and bred/showed Egyptian Arabians and I was a big part of helping care for them. Started by filling waters after school in elementary and ended when I had to grow up and get a job that paid the bills, instead of helping them run the place. ;) Then life happened, and my dream of owning a horse of my own kept getting back burnered. Until this November, when Annie came into my life.
Annie is a 4.5 year old Spanish Mustang. She is a total doll. Very much a pocket pony. She is green, but very calm and level headed. Her mother was wild caught as a pregnant mare. But Annie has been handled since birth. Annie adores my children - even my 5 year twins. (She thinks my girl twin is the giver of all things cookie and therefore is a god! Lol) She is a pretty small mare, and VERY short backed. When she is "trained up" Annie has the makings to be a kick butt kids horse. She has the right temperament for it. But for myself I plan to use her for mostly trails, my kids have visions of 4H gaming though.
I am very excited to start/start over in the horse world. I am dusting off my old skills, and learning new skills too. I am surrounding myself with "horse people" again to do so.
Glad to meet everyone!
