Oops! Jumped right in with my pregnant - or not - mare question and forgot to post here!

I started with my first pony when I was nine months old and trailed, showed, jumped, taught, and raced until I got married and had kids - couldn't afford both horses and kids, so was out of the business for a while. Got lucky and bought a few horses when we lived in Colorado for a short time, but had to let them go when things got tough and we had to move.

Almost 20 years after that, I decided it would be a good idea to adopt two mustangs - wild but not crazy - and ended up with a 15yo mare and her colt, about 6 months old. They arrived mid-December and while I can work with the colt, now that we have some decent weather, I'm unable to even touch the mare without her jumping away. Tough nut to crack.

In February, I had another bright idea - two more. Not young fillies, as I'd expected, but an 18mo little girl - who's 14hh already - and a young mare, about 3yo. Both very lovey and gentle.

So, we live in Missouri, bought a farm two years ago and fixed it up and moved here last year when the youngest of five graduated high school. I'm an author and publisher, but am retiring from the latter in the next year.
