New horse mom

Hi there. I am new horse mom with a teenage daughter that has been riding for 5 years. We've just purchased a Rocky Mountain/Swedish Warmblood mix and we LOVE him. I am always researching horse-related/barn-related info to help me be more useful and informed. Our barn is AMAZING with lots of folks willing to share info.

Welcome to the forum! Looking forward to pics of y'alls horse!

Some horse people change their horse, they change their tack and discipline, they change their instructor; they never change themselves.

WELCOME to the Forum!!

Congratulations on not acquiring a son or daughter but a horse!!
Perfect!!
Kids is great, but horses...sigh!

We are often "enablers" here and all get happy feelings when dreams come true..
Enjoy the journey just beginning.

...

The worst day is instantly better when shared with my horse.....

Gratz on the new horse--is he gaited like a rocky? A friend of ours almost bought a rocky/draft cross recently--wish they would have. Great looking horse. Would love to see pix of your boy--sounds awesome!

Horses are proof that God wants us to be happy

You seemed have missed our mandatory rule about sharing a photo of your new horse when you tell us you bought a horse.

I kid! There's no such rule ...... but we would still love to see him!

It is not enough to know how to ride; one must know how to fall.

Welcome to the forum! I'd love to see a picture too.

Don't judge someone's horse or skill because they don't compete or work with a trainer.

Sometimes they're the most in tune with each other.
