New rider looking for one week horse camp/lessons for mother/daughter?

My 9 yr old and I just started taking lessons (we are currently learning English after learning Western), and I am very interested in a one week summer camps for mother/daughter that includes lessons. We live in northeast Florida but can travel anywhere within Florida or to Georgia, South Carolina, or North Carolina but don't want to go further than that. Any ideas or those who have done this? Or a horse vacation? Thanks for any input!

That sounds fun! I haven't heard of anything specifically mother-daughter related, but I know there are week-long camps in our area (far from you). I hope you find something! :)

Jan1975, that's great you've got camps like that near you - Lucky duck! I found somewhere in Georgia but it's more like dude ranch but it did include group lessons. Found another dude ranch in Orlando area but it would be awesome to do more of a rider academy for beginners or something like that. I'll keep looking!!

I know there are a couple of mother/daughter's that ride together at my barn. I have never heard of any week long camps. What they do is just do a lesson together (the mother and daughter) once every week or every other week. Seems to work for them! Maybe that's an option.

Sounds like a lot of fun! My daughter (10) and I are currently sharing a horse, so she does a lesson for about 45 min. then I hop on the horse and do mine (instructor comes to our barn). Luckily our horse has endless energy! Planning on a second horse in the summer.

I've had horses before, but am more or less a beginner, esp. at English (was trained Western in my youth) whereas my daughter has been taking lessons for over four years. She loves telling me what I'm doing wrong and encouraging me to improve (mostly by laughing at me ;)! We laugh a lot and have fun. But she also takes group lessons with kids her age on Saturdays.

She has done summer camps, but they're always for kids. I've never heard of a mother/daughter type camp, but it sounds awesome. Hope you find one!
