Thank you very much for your thorough advice. I was thinking to pay for lessons, but also volunteer at the barn or stable (whichever is the right word for it) where I take these lessons.

Same thing, just different terminology depending on where you live :)

Enjoy this new adventure which will be filled with twist and turns; ups and downs. Ah, but it is so worth it.

There should be some barns for lessons and rental around Nashville I would think.

Hopefully, later this year I'll be moving TN. still deciding on where. I just want an area known for the horse life style and good riding!

Unless I missed it, you didn't say you rode English or Western the other day.

If you are interested in English riding, I have only heard good things about Hunters Court near Nashville. It has lessons for all ages and all levels of riders.

Here's a list of riding stables near Nashville. Some offer lessons.

Some have ratings.

I live a lot further south of Nashville therefore no help, but maybe this list will be helpful to you:)
