I guess I just need to give her more time and good diet to adjust. She is being trimmed for balance and not sore but it's pretty crazy how they worn down so fast just from turnout and next to no work o,o
Horses move plenty in turn out and that movement can effect the hoof significantly. Especially if the surface or amount of movement encourages wear. We have sand and gravel (naturally occurring) over clay as well as exposed clay ( 90-10 to 80-20 mix hard surface that eventually becomes sandstone under pressure/compaction) along with plenty of movement over the course of the day and some good hard play time so wear is something that happens in the pasture here.
I don't see a problem with the show either. If the horse does well for that rider in the ring and you trust the rider not a big deal to be ridden over a low round of jumps.
