Owning for the first time! Meet Andee!

So its official! Everyone, please meet my new, big black horse Andee! Today I bought him from the greatest curly stable ever, Sunnybrook Stables.

I was a horse crazy kid who had her dreams crushed due to severe horse allergies. Four years ago I found out about hypoallergenic horses, the North American Curly. And luckily for me, there was a breeder only an hour and a half away! I immediately contacted Deanna and set up an appointment to test my allergies on some of her horses.

Imagine my surprise when I could hug them without reaction! No wheezing, no sneezing, no coughing or swollen eyes... It was a dream come true. Today is an extension of that dream. Andee is a sixteen year old gelding, he has his faults but hes beautiful to me. His short mane and tail are charming, he loves snuggles and has wonderful manners. Everything came together so wonderfully for his purchase, I think the universe was shouting at me to do it. Any way, enjoy the pic spam hehe, I hope to get some less dark photos next time I am out!

That's wonderful ! He's very handsome, if a bit "fluffy", and I don't mean his hair.

Haha yeah, we will be working on that, he was sold from my stable four years ago to a roper, who sold him back when his allergies suppressed so he could buy a "real" horse. While there he had a grain rich diet. He's only been back a week or so at the stable and we have a tone of sweet grasses in the pasture so it'll be tough to bring his weight down but I'm gonna try my darnedest!!

Congratulations! It's wonderful when you can find a solution to your allergy problem and love a horse of your very own. He's a solid, honest looking boy.
