That is wonderful that you have a Curly Horse now...hope you have a lot of great years with him too. I first saw the Curly breed waaaaay back in 1984 when my Dad and I, along with others, were invited to ride in the California Rose Bowl Parade with the West Coast Pony Express Re-riders.
Allergy wise, I took shots for a few years when I was growing up, but at the time they were still fairly new so it didn't always work to help my immune system. Doctor always said dander and fur, animals were not something I should go around but I still grew up riding, having animals and here I am today working horses. Had a few bad episodes, have allergy induced asthma and carry a rescue inhaler but...the only times I have had to use it is for certain foods. As you grow older I think your body will build up it's own defenses.
