Thumbs up Picking a name

Hey guys, something happened over at my friend house and now they dont have a job or any source of income for that matter but they have 8 horses. My mom said most likely will be more willing to sell/give them to us. The horse of theirs I ride and love is named Buck but I dont think it fits him well so if I get him I want to change his name. Would you help? He is a black and white paint his base color is white.his mane and tail is also black and white. Oh and he has matching black hearts on both side at the spot.

I was thinking some kind of native American or some kind of indian name although I am equally open to all.

I was thinking something like Snow Owl or maybe something silly like Elvis.

Thanks
( He has one shiny beautiful blue eye and a black-ish broen eye)

Pick a name that you'll be happy to say a lot. Try it out by using it to talk about him and talk to him, and see if it fits him and you're comfortable with it.

Hmmm....What really helped me figure out a name for my Tessa was getting to know her and trying to figure out which one fit her best. Also, something that I wanted was a name that I could easily turn into nicknames. So I think it'll really be up to you a lot with figuring out what name you like best and which one fits him. I like names like Captain, Pirate, Kona, Rocky, Tango, Arion, Mercury, etc. Like I said, figure out what kind of name fits him: short and sweet, longer and more elegant, something silly...whatever ;) For Native Americans names, I like Cherokee or even something like Dakota :) Best of luck! Congrats on hopefully acquiring a lovely little horse! Hope to hear more about him and see some pics :)

pick one that's easy to say when you're happy, and when you are mad, when you are calling them from a distance, and when you are writing about them here.

I personally like shorter names.

Oreo?

Elvis (I like that name. it's my cat's name and he is also black and white)

Frank, Folly, Hubert, Corazon (heart), Kokoro (Japanese for "heart')

Thank you all!

My 3 favorite name choices for him are: Scout, Snow Owl, and Elvis.
Ill talk to him and see what he like more.

How about Tonto from the Lone Ranger....

Tonto rode a paint.

Ooooh I LOVE Scout! And, actually, going off of the Lone Ranger (I loved watching reruns of it growing up and actually own all of the discs now) Scout IS the name of the horse Tonto rides! I think that's a fantastic name choice!!!

I also like Snow Owl. You could call him Owl or Snowy for short. :)

Agree though, whatever fits him is what you should use.

Don't judge someone's horse or skill because they don't compete or work with a trainer.

Sometimes they're the most in tune with each other.
