Riding Update

I thought I would give a little update. I think the last time I posted about lessons, I was working through some almost debilitating fear. I'm so happy to say that I have made it to the other side, and am enjoying my lessons!

I ride a very mild lesson horse whom everyone says has a super-smooth trot. He's a great fit for me -- I think everyone who rides him feels that way. My instructor had great instincts about when, how, and how far to push. Bless her heart for sticking with with the girl who was terrified of doing the posting trot on the lunge line.

A few weeks ago we spent some lessons trotting over poles. Last week I did sitting trot for the first time, and this week I'll be doing some riding without stirrups. What a relief to have moved beyond my "too terrified to move" phase!

So happy for you!

When I bestride him, I soar, I am a hawk: he trots the air; the earth sings when he touches it; the basest horn of his hoof is more musical than the pipe of Hermes. ~ William Shakespeare
