What's old is new again.

Ventipulmin is the bomb. One of ours is on it and it is magic. My vet recommended it at the first cough.

Speaking of scammy-sounding products, I keep getting paid ads for "Equi-Streamz" magnetic bands showing up in my Facebook feed. Magnets again?? Oh boy.

Here's the video explaining the "technology:"

The product consists of a band that goes around the front left pastern, and a second one for the hind right pastern, and somehow that... corrects the... "frequencies?"

Yet, of course, the testimonials are full of people who have had success with them for... everything. Something being a cure-all is one of the biggest red flags.

Or how about this one, which is marketed for people, but could very well find its way to our horses! Except that Health Canada has ordered several lines of these to be taken off the market for making fraudulent claims. Part of me wishes there were watchdogs like this in the horse industry, but part of me worries that it would just make it even more difficult and complicated for me to get my hands on the supplements and vitamins that my horses actually do need.

'This is snake oil': Scientists don't buy balance-boosting clips featured on Dragons' Den | CBC News

This guy sells clips for 40-120$ that work through "quantum entanglement". The creator says himself that they don't exactly know how they work, just that they do. However, scientific testing has proven otherwise.

Speaking of whatís old is new again, I wonder if whiskey will be the new cure for colic. My parents did not drink but they always had a bottle of whiskey for the horses. I donít know how old I was when I realized humans actually drank the stuff.

Methinks the colic treatment was for the humans, not the horse.

Never heard of that one, but beer was the 'in thing' for colic treatment when I was a kid.
