I wouldn't like the idea of having a dominant mare, for fear she'd try to dominate me and riding would be a constant struggle instead of a joy.

I agree with the others... stick to your guns. If you're at all uncomfortable with this horse, you don't want her. And you definitely don't need to deal with her for another week while the owner gets their act in gear!

Yeah, I ended up not buying this horse. At which point the trainer and owner stopped acknowledging me altogether (not even to officially acknowledge the end of the trial.) Bullet dodged, I think.
