Updated on my adopted Standardbred

Another update, some more pictures before the winter fuzzies settled in. We're at ten months and I have the perfect horse. :) We've rode many trail rides we're he's now confident enough to LEAD and follow. I took him to each speed show for the exposure, and by the third one we were competing (at a trot, but still huge for my once spooky bolter!). We've had beginners and children on him and he has been amazing and patient. I'm so glad I stuck through the hard times! And I must say... he certainly turned out handsome.

As a reminder, THIS is where we started

THIS is Brego (reg. as Ryder) now.

Ahem. Update**

Also, I know his noseband is low. I haven't got to actually use this bridle yet until I find a leatherworker that can adjust it. Grrr

Nice improvement!
JCnGrace likes this.

Sometimes I wrestle with my demons. Sometimes we just snuggle.

Good work! My new-ish standardbred is looking much better now too, it's so satisfying watching them improve. He now gets comments on how handsome he is as opposed to being called an ugly donkey when he first arrived.
