Utah

Hi everybody, new here to the forum.

A little about me:

I live in Utah and been riding horses awhile. I did not grow up in a ranch/cowboy family. My dad was a ranch hand when he was a kid, but it ends there.

I grew up taking care of my neighbor's goats and volunteering help at some local stables with horses. At this stage, I'm saving up for some land to purchase to move my little family and be first generation, small-time ranchers. I'm not planning on anything huge, maybe just a nice stable and animals. Horses are my biggest love and interest though.

I look forward to meeting y'all and learning all I can from you. Thank you for reading and have a great day.

Love Utah, although I live a lot closer to Mexico than Utah. If things go as my wife and I hope - we're retired - we may move closer to Utah. Went to school at Utah State decades ago. The mountains, the deserts, the red rock - I love it all.

I started riding at 50, so I'm a late comer. Look forward to hearing your experiences.

Riders ask "How?" Horsemen ask "Why?"

I also love Utah--been there a number of times on vacation. In fact we've had some recent discussions about desert road trips and I shared some of my pix from Zion here--

Hope you'll share some of your first hand experiences from that great state--welcome to the forum!

Welcome to the forum! This is a great place to learn and ask questions.

Being able to make a dream come true it a wonderful thing I was not raised in a ranching family either. I grew up in the city and always hated it growing up. So I spent lots of time out camping and trail riding on rented horses. But now I have been lucky enough to live my dream living on 40 acres in the mountains and having my own horses and other farm animals. :)

Utah State is a great school. I went up to a school in Idaho for some reason haha.

Welcome! My aunt and uncle and cousins live in Utah. Until they relocated there from Oklahoma, I had no idea how pretty Utah is!
