My lesson horse is a very loud sorrel paint with a pink nose, and will burn very easily. As others have said, a long fly mask and some sunscreen daily will prevent burning. That patricular mare really hates sunscreen/diaper rash cream but seems to enjoy the sunscreen sticks - much less messy to apply too :)

My lease horse is prone to sunburn on her nose. I just use baby sunscreen on her (yup, the kind for human babies). She looks funny with her sunscreen-white nose, but it really works. :) I wouldn't worry about a small area that is prone to sunburn, since, like others have said, it's pretty easy to prevent and care for.

If sunburn is the worst thing you have to deal with, you're in great shape!

I have a whole barn full of white faced, pink nosed horses who burn like crazy. I buy 50 spf sunblock and slather it on every morning before they get turned out. No big deal.

Sunburns are pretty common for horses with white noses. You'll probably want to invest in a padded halter to make sure the horses isn't irritated by it.

Just use sunscreen and clean it regularly
