That is so exciting! You are very lucky! My mare was basically a giveaway as well (unbroken) and I have so much fun with her. Happy Trails!

So, I have spent some time with him over the long weekend. I learned how to groom, do his feet, put on his halter, blanket etc..... my girlfriend trimmed his whiskers, and gave him an Arab cut on his bridal path as well. Yesterday we had him out walking and doing some obstacles in the arena. He did really good, even got him to start stepping over logs and whatnot. He stands really good, he's good having his feet done and is a super cool guy. Really enjoying it all so far. He is 14.5 hands tall and weighs in at 900lbs....Here is a couple more shots of him.

I'll bet he is registered but his papers have not traveled with him. The person who walked from him and left your BO with him, likely has the papers and would hand them over for a handsome ransom. If they didn't pay the board, they wouldn't hand the papers over free of charge either.

I'm glad you were able to spend a lot of your long weekend with him. There is a lot to learn - try not to get overwhelmed by it all.

Your very best help will always be "live" help, but please feel free to ask away on this forum.

If you care to, there is a "Member Journal" section way down the first page of this forum. It's a great way for you to follow your own progress:)

We look forward to hearing more of your adventures with your new horse
