Usually iam buy boots, Salt/mineral block, Shavings/bedding, Stall cleaning fork..

It's a law in some places that a horse must come with a halter.

Before we brought our horses home we had:
land to put them on (but you could find a barn to board at if this isn't available)
The feed they were on
A water trough & an automatic waterer (you don't have to have one though.)
A mineral block
Grooming supplies (hoof pick, brushes, horse shampoo, etc.)
Halters & lead ropes
Fly spray

We also found a farrier to do their hooves and a large animal vet. You might need some other stuff too, that's just all off the top of my head.
