Saddle fit opinions (Picture heavy)

Hey everyone, I was hoping to get some opinions on the new saddle I got. It's a Wintec 250 Dressage saddle, currently has the medium-wide gullet plate in it. I know it does not fit my horse perfectly right now, and have no fear. The saddle fitter will be coming out to look at it and see what adjustments need to be made. For now I was just hoping to get some opinions on how it is currently looking.

Here are my thoughts on it so far. It seems that the center of balance on the seat is too far back, and although the gullet plate in it fits her it still seems to be sitting a little high on her shoulders, the pommel looks like it's quite high up. Here are some pictures!

Sorry about the not great picture quality, but anything you can give me is appreciated!

It looks to me as if your horse has a big nearside shoulder, and it's forcing the saddle over to the right.

If that's the case, the cure is a wider gullet and extra flockon the 'lo9' side, but your fitter should sort that out.

The level didn't look too bad to me - the low point is supposed to be further back than the middle of the seat in any case - but widening the gullet will lower the pommel a little.

I was definitely thinking it might need the wider gullet, and probably the biggest adjustment will be some changes in the flocking. I'll wait and see what the fitter says. Thanks!

you might be able to tap it back a half inch.

Ya, looking at the pictures now, I wish I had placed it further back, in a couple it looks a bit far forward

I think you're both right there. Chances are it'll still want levelling, though. And don't worry about the girth straps angling forward - some will say it'll pull the saddle up behind the horse's shoulder and you'll need a 'cranked' girth to correct it, but in my experience it rarely causes such problems.

Another vote for too narrow as it is tilting back, the medium gullet fits few horses in my opinion as most seem to be wider. I have only used the medium when my TB was very thin and wasted.

It's the medium-wide, but yes I agree, it's still too narrow
