Talking Who wears it better!?

I posted a while back about trying to find both of our Quarter Horses a saddle for the light trail riding we do. I have a 5 year old narrow built (as far as QHs go) and a great big wide bay mare. Both foundation ladies.

To date this is the ONLY SADDLE that doesn't want to end up over the palominos shoulders after a ride and that doesn't slide off the side on the bay (shes been impossible to get a saddle to stay in place on). What are you thoughts on either of them?

(The photo of this mare without the pad didn't upload for some reason...)

I think the palomino wears it better. It seems a bit too small for the bay.

I wish I could read Western saddles better, though.

I agree with Tinyliny - palomino model not too bad, bay model bit of a tight fit. If you’re going with that saddle, the best next step I can think of is to play with the type and style of an individual saddle pad that would best benefit each horse.

I feel your pain in this matter. As much as I love the idea of unlimited shopping sprees to get saddles for multiple reasons it becomes impractical from a financing and storage perspective - only so much money and so much room.

Perfect. This is what I thought that I was seeing too.

It always worries me a little and throws me off that all saddles seem to tip forward and hit the palomino in the shoulders but, I've yet to find any that do not so, I think she will just keep this one.

The bay will keep shopping for something a little wider, and though tight I think she will "live" if she uses it in the mean time. I have a couple of saddles that have to sell before I can try another one...

Thanks for the thoughts!
