Hi, I’m looking for horse treat recipes I can make at home with the ingredients I have in the pantry. I have:
And in my head it seems like these would combine to make a dough of some sort. I just can’t find a recipe with measurements and bake...
My life long dream is finally coming true! I am building my own barn. It won't be super fancy, but it will be mine.
We have ordered a 30'Wx36'Lx12'H enclosed building. To which we will have to build in stalls, etc. It will have (3) 10x12 stalls each with a framed out 4'x7' opening for access...
My horse needs to be on stall rest for at least a month. The problem is he hates being indoors, and indoor stall rest isn't cheap. I'd like to build him a small outdoor stall/pen, 15'x15' or 10'x20'. Have any of you done this before? I'm specifically looking for advice on:
Hey ya! This spring I plan to clean out and fix up the tack-room I use. It is literal trash right now, but I'm not an adult and it belongs to my grandparents so they will not agree to burning it down or rebuilding a new one.
I'm posting this to ask you all what I can do to organize everything...

I am looking for a part-livery, or possibly full-livery yard, in the north east of england, for my 13.3hh gelding and my 16.1hh mare?

Barn where I board at does not have a ton of jump equipment available so I've been thinking about making my own set of cavalleti. Anyone have affordable ideas asides from buying the pvc ones sold in tack stores?
Portable and lightweight are plus, since I have to setup and move everything out...
Has anyone ever built a home made manure spreader? If so, what did you do?
I have only one horse and limited money and can't afford a spreader. I love DIY...wanted to know if anyone had any clever ideas.
I've been wanting to make a Noseband for one of my horses. Instead of spending a ton of money on one, I thought it would be fun to make my own. I have an idea in mind on what I want it to look like but no idea on how to start. Any suggestions help. Thanks in advance.
I am considering trying some competitive trail riding, and for training season it suggests having lots of reflective gear/neon tack for riding at night or during hunting season (in the fall/winter time)
Some of the prices on the tack I've found are OK, but some are just ridiculous!
Today I'm going to be sharing a very helpful recipe I found via Pinterest that helps promote tail growth!

Hi all! I was coming in from riding today, thinking about those cool colored stirrups, and how expensive they are, unfortunately! But I have an insanely cheap and easy way to get around that.
First, you'll need a pair of plain steel stirrups. If the stirrup pads aren't already taken out...
This is my old re-vamped headstall. I couldn't be more happy with how it turned out :D! I eventually want to make another one with brown/turquoise.
(Sorry if the pictures are huge, I don't know how to re-size them on here)
..Specifically a western show shirt. But any patterns will be good, since I'm bored and 'in' to making my own horse stuff right now .
Anyone have any free patterns for making your own show clothes to share?
I found some good ones on SuitAbility, but before spending $14.00 on a pattern...
Anyone out there make slow feeders to try and make their horses eat slower? My gelding is pretty good at eating slowly on his own, but the mare I have here for a friend is a bit of a vacuum when it comes to food.
I did some research and while I really wanted to make some feeders out of hockey...
My family runs a DIY livery yard just outside Southend. We have a few free stables at the moment and thought I would try and see if there is any interest!
We have a range of different size stables, grazing all year round, a full size floodlit manege as well as many others.
