    I was looking around at some pics of my horses bit, and look at the info I found out on the bit we are using: the Pelham has a bit that curves outward (like above) "They have curved mouth bars that eliminate the "nutcracker" action and stop the bit from hitting the roof of the horse's...

    Can a bit with a single joint, but curved bars, still cause the nutcracker action and hit the pallet? I would think that because it's curved, it wouldn't... but you tell me! Here is a picture of the kind of bit I'm referring to, but I'm referring to all brands, not just Sprenger:
