Are a tight noseband, flash, and spurs necessary to train and show dressage?
I rode hunter/jumper for many years, and then spent around 7 years riding trail. I didn't ride as often as I'd have liked to for a while after I had my son, who's now in elementary school. My husband drives draft...
I came across these at an estate sale. all I know is that they are vintage and made by crockett. please tell me about how much they are worth and any other information I should know. I tried to list as many detailed photos as I could
I'm looking for a pair of inexpensive spurs for lessons and possibly used in shows. I want one 1/4" to 1/2"... Just for a little encouragement. :-)

So I have been leasing a horse for almost 1 and 1/2 years and have been doing natural horsemanship with her for 1. She backs up with wiggling my finger and yeilds her hinds just by me looking at them. She has a fairly slow walk and trot and I have been working on slowing down her lope and her...
I'm not sure which Prince of Whales spur to purchase? Mainly, I need to know which is more commonly worn in the hunter ring, and which is most humane.
Ex: regular, 3/4, 1/4? Should it have a pointed, regular, or knob end??
Thanks so much!
My trainer encourages us to use spurs because he says its more humane than overusing the bit. I agree with this, but I just don't know if I want to use them still. It just seems weird, although I'm getting used to it.
What's your opinion on spurs? Do you use them? Why?
On the horse I am leasing I normaly use these spurs.
The problem I have is they alays fall off because there is no way to sucure them with a strap. I went to my local tack shop and the closest thing they have to my other spurs are these ones.
Should they work the same?
I love reining, and decided that I want to persue it. I have tought my horse to spin, but he brings his head up when I ask him to speed it up. I ask him by barely touching him with my spurs, he speeds up, but his head comes up also. How do I help him keep his head down? I won't use a tie down, I...
There is this chick on FB and is calling me an animal abuser because I ride horses, use a bit, and thinks it is unimaginable to even properly use spurs, shoes, and whips. She is some weirdo I tell ya. They are even against CORRECTING your horse when it puts you in danger. They are COMPLETELY...
