Hey friends! I have 2 horses who I will be taking camping this weekend. The first is an 8yo TB/paint gelding, and the second is a 20yo TB gelding. The TB is old hat and I have no concerns about him, however the youngster might be another story.... He is normally very solid and not very spooky...

I am currently looking after 2 horses that are kept in a field with no stable. with the owner i am hoping to look after them and bring them back into work. As there is not a stable i do not have a tie ring but i do have bailing twine. Where would be the best place to tie the horses? onto the...

My advice: invest in emergency release ties before you wind up with a giant vet bill! Last week I was unloading Lemonade from a slant load trailer when she pulled back HARD. By the time I realized what was happening, she was halfway out of the trailer and the quick-release knot in her lead...

So to make a long story short I've always had a pretty odd, informal way of tying my saddle bags mainly because these are my first ones and I haven't gotten to use them yet :-x. My horses have always been great when I tied them, never trying to break free and always standing nicely. That is, they were up til 2 weeks ago. I had my 17yo morgan, Tazz and my 6yo appendix Ned, tied up to my trailer, Ned in a leather halter and a rope lead and Tazz in a nylon halter and rope...

On Monday evening as Honey and I were leaving to join some frinds for a ride Honey slipped in the trailer and ended up with a decent cut just above her left eye. Since it was after hours I brought her to the vet the following morning to have it cleaned properly and get some antibiotics and...
