  1. Horse Breeds, Registrations and Brands
Hi Everyone! This is a shoutout to all welsh, welsh cross, and young horse owners/trainers. I have a 2.5 yo Welsh D x Oldenburg. I've owned him for 7ish months and his is the first horse younger than 3 that I've worked with. So here is my question. What should I expect of his...
  2. Horse Breeds, Registrations and Brands
Planning on breeding a Welsh Sec. D/Trakehner cross this year. I have seen a lot of the Welsh/TB cross or Welsh Sec. B/Warmblood cross but I haven't seen a lot of Welsh Cob/Warmblood crosses. Does anyone have any opinions on this cross? What should I expect? Pictures would be great if you have any.
  3. Training, Performance, behavioral concerns/queries
I am helping my BO out and training one of her five new welsh ponies. They've been around for a while, and four of them are going at the walk, trot, and a few at the canter. But there is one pony who is terrified of everything. You can not catch him unless you happen to corner him. At which...
  4. Horse Feeds, Feeding and Nutrition
My pony is a Welsh Section D and he's had laminitus before - a few weeks ago actually. He has restricted grazing but because it's been bad weather there's barely any grass so when he goes out in the morning he has a slice of hay. He also has soaked hay overnight and some chaff in the morning...
  5. Horse Talk
I have found a lovely winter project pony (not to keep for my self) , but she is only 11.1hh and I am 5ft and weigh 7 stones. However I shes a heavy set Welsh Sec A. Just thought I'd get an opinion on this as its been ages since I rode diddy ponies :D.

hahaha just kidding. This is Lelouch (leh-luu-shhh) We also call him Lulu. He is a 11-11.2 hh Connemara X Welsh, 9 years old. He is a pasture mate for my paint (primary riding horse) but I also get on him for fun and will take him to shows this summer. He is from a eventing stable but his...
  8. Training, Performance, behavioral concerns/queries
P.s. I'm not really looking for any advice, I just wanted to show off Hippy's accomplishments lol XD Me and my sister own a lovely little light palomino welsh pony named Hippy! He turned 8 this year, but was only broken when he was 4/5 - he is very skittish, green and nervous - it's just his...
  9. Horse Shows
My horse won the Yearling class at Lampeter Horse Show in Wales, United Kingdom. Check out my photos on my profile to see him in action there. We are soooo proud of him!! We worked so hard to get him there, I started out as a rider, then a horse owner in 10 years later I got my own yard and...
  10. Horse Shows
I noticed a thread from quite a while back that started with someone asking about shows in Alberta. Not many were mentioned, and this one wasn't, so I thought I'd post. This is a great show in Alberta. I've copied and pasted the general information from the Wild Rose Show's facebook page...
  11. Horse Feeds, Feeding and Nutrition
I've searched a little and read some different posts about feeding ponies but I just wanted to get some opinions on the best options in my situation. I haven't had a pony for a long time (about 15 years probably and he was a Caspian that practically lived off of fresh air). Yesterday I...
  12. Horses for Sale, Lease, Loan & Wanted
"Brunette Moment" aka Petal is a 6 year old 14.1 Welsh X pony. She has lots of scope and potential to be doing the large pony division, or the pony jumpers. She has great ground manners and is always looking to please her rider. At Petals 2nd horse show, Petal and her 12 year old owner won the...
  13. Horse Breeding
Ok so I have a wonderful and talented Haflinger X mare who I love dearly but who has had an accident and is pretty much going to be retired now. I've been toying with the idea of putting her in foal for a few years now so it would now seem to be the ideal time. Her Dam was a Welsh X Arab and...
  14. Horse Breeds, Registrations and Brands
My favourite breeds of horses to ride are Quater horses and Welshies. QH- i love the way they hold themselves. I particually love this QH I ride at my riding center. He is really forward moving and has a great trot. Welsh- Are just fun to ride. Love clydesdales as well. They're gorgeous.
  15. Horse Conformation Queries and Critique
My 5 month old filly, Star. Please tell me whether or not she will be suitable for Endurance and please crit. her Conformation (though it might be hard as she is not fully matured yet) All comments are welcome, even ones saying how cute she is, and ones asking questions! :D Thanks

I've had Harry..4 or 5 months now and I'm just wondering what you guys think of a breed for him. I was told he was a cob mongrel and an old guy thought he was an irish cob but 2 people recently suggested he was a welsh cob and the woman who sold me my saddle said she thinks he is a lot welsh...
