Well, here is some advice for anyone that decides to "upgrade" to windows 10. If you have an iPhone, make sure you have downloaded any recent upgrades for the phone. And, as an extra precautionary measure, before you install 10, download (via icloud, iTunes, whatever) anything that is on your phone that you need transferred right now to your computer. I say this b/c downloading windows 10 may end up causing your computer to not recognize your iPhone and make iTunes go wonky, which of course you can "fix" by obvious means...but it will take time that you may not have.

MS has "onedrive" app. And, it is a pretty decent app. But, it only transfers photo/video files created after it was installed on your iphone....in case you are thinking that would be an easy work around for such files. :)

They fixed the display driver issue for a lot of pc's. I don't think they should have "missed" it to begin with, but...

One surprising aspect for me was, it actually sped up the speed at which the internet opens.

Actually, I would wait another couple of months until they have patched it up around the seams. If there were no bugs, it isn't too terrible.

Interesting you say that about OneDrive. It transferred all my pics from my phone to my tablet with no issues after I upgraded to 10 on my tablet and installed the app on my phone.

I have 10 on my office computer, our guest computer and my tablet. I like it for the most part, except for Microsoft Edge, but switching my default browser was relatively easy once I figured out what the issue was (our PMS wouldn't open on my office computer and I freaked out for a second and called tech support ).

I do like how 10 makes files easy to find. Easier than it was with 7 Pro, which is what I had on my office computer previously.

I think I preferred 8.1 for my tablet, though. 10 has started to not like opening some of my apps.

Do not tell me I can't...because I will show you that I can.

My siblings have had no issues. I was just saying that seems to be a common hiccup (iPhone), so if you want to play it safe...it is advisable to take a few precautions. The only difference will be the time it takes you to do whatever it is you wanted to do in the event that you encounter troubles vs not - since all of the issues can be resolved.

Saddlebag, I think that if you create something in WordPad and then save it (save as ) to your documents, you should be able to print it.

Hombres, tried that, won't print other documents either. I tried downloading Open Office. Got partway done and it downloaded a couple of things plus switched my browsers to Yahoo. Had quite a time getting rid of that stuff and never did get OO. Didn't have this problem when I downloaded to Vista but I thinks it's more to do with whomever owns OO. I'm going to skip 10. I was reading that you have to put up with advertising. ??

It won't print any document? I would have to guess it is drivers.

From what I was reading, Windows 10 is free for a year then money is wanted. For those who don't want it, it might be difficult to go back to what you had. Finally got OO downloaded so far then it wanted money. Previously it had been free. Deleted it.

I am pretty sure it is free during the first year of its release, not a "cost" a year after downloaded. I imagine an upgrade to "a better 10" would cost.

It isn't totally terrible and has a few redeeming features, but I wouldn't do it again. You aren't missing out on anything amazing.
