I want to buy a saddle very similar to the one below from my girlfriend complete with matching pad, neoprene girth (about 2 years old) and nylon/cloth cinch. I may be able to buy the saddle bags too. The saddle is in OK shape, very good for it's age, and I have been using it for months without any problems. How much should I offer her? With or without the bags? She won't give me a price for reasons I won't go into. I know she won't take what it's worth but is $100 an insult without the saddle bags?

Oh my god I could swear that's my old saddle..same age, looks exactly the same. If you weren't in Canada I'd swear that it was the same one haha
So I can tell you I sold this exact saddle about a year ago for about $120 USD in a consignment deal at my local feed/tack shop.
But the price may be lower since this is a personal deal.

I really loved this saddle when I had it. It was really comfortable and durable..mine was about this age and seemed like it would last a good 10 more years IMO.
I'd get it.

That Saddle sells for 279.00 Brand New, it seems to be in good shape, they average about 150.00 used, but many times go for 125.00 lately.

Your market may be different for resale.

Tasia, Did you read where I wrote that I have been using it for months already? Obviously I like it. It is just fine for me; I am purely a pleasure rider and that probably makes a huge difference.

Everyone else: thanks for the input. I'd say I'm right on the mark then given the market here and the relationship involved in this deal. I'm glad. Now I won't feel guilty every time I get on my horse!
