Hey gals (and guys). I have a real nice black 19" Aussie synthetic saddle for sale. It is the one they sell for 295. on their web site. It is a cute, black well made saddle, very comfy, very secure seat, but alas it does not fit the horse i bought it for (though it fits everyone else LOL)
It only does not fit intended horse because she is a very short backed Arabian and it's too long. the saddle is in like new condition, it has been used for 2 short 30 minute rides. Its a nice introduction to the Aussie saddles for a cheap price. It is waterproof of course and overall a pretty nice little saddle.

If hyou are looking for a larger size comfy saddle that will help you stick with a spooky horse this saddle is awesome! it has a suede type seat that is very "grippy" and that in combination with the poleys will really help y ou keep your seat with a spooky, fresh, or green horse.

Honestly i loved this saddle but the truth is, i have WAY too many saddles and since this one does not really work for the horse it was bought for it needs to find a new home. I'm hoping to get 150. plus shipping for it. Make me an offer :)
thanks for looking.

I think its a medium

it is a 19" medium (i think just the standard "medium") where exactly would i measure the gullet? I'm happy to do it just not exactly sure how :) like i said it fit several horses that i tired it on but its too long for a short backed horse :) My TB has high withers and it fit him fine but i have a nice used stubben for him that fits like a glove. it fit the arab good upfront but was too long in the seat and seemed to extend back on her back too far. (like past the last rib)

there is a LOT of info on these saddles on their web site. google down under saddle supply. (forgot the exact website) its the synthetic trail saddle it was 299 when i bought it I think they may be 289 now.
It is pretty comfy too i just have 6 saddles for 4 horses and my hubby says that this is getting Ridicules that i need to get rid of the ones that we are not using LOL.

It comes with a 32" soft and comfy neoprene girth that fit my 14.2 hh Arab and my 17hh Warmblood so it's very adjustable. and the brass irons (which are an upgrade) and their nylon "leathers" so it's ready to ride. the only thing I'd do is switch to regular English type leathers. i hate those nylon ones.....

You know that is 19 aussi which is the same as 17 western? That saddle will fit a horse that has a bit of withers, probably not a draft or a wide flat backed QH. It will also work well on a TWH. I have a leather one with a similar tree. I upgraded when I got more serious though. I dont get the "too long part" Sadlde generally doesnt get much shorter than that and I am using one specifically on a horse that had back issues from long saddles.

Ha! Forgot to take that into cosideration!
Thinking.... May be too narrow for his withers.

Hey Joe4D I have an Arabian with a really short back. the saddle is just too long for her back. I have a 17.5 Jefferies english jumping saddle that fits her much better. its like the saddle extends too far onto her back and it's hitting her in that dibit where the spine on the back and the spine of the rump hook together. don't know what that spot is called but your saddle is not supposed to be sitting past the last rib was what i have been told :) the saddle fits her in the shoulders and otherwise just fine.....

hmmm ok I'm not the expert on Aussie saddles. this is my first one. i was under the impression that having a horn or not was a choice that is personal. All The Saddles from Down Under saddle company come in Horn or no horn models. I can show you the confirmation of that :) via their web site. I thought that was the whole idea is comfort and safety riding in back country on fresh cattle working horses... More geared as i stated before to whatever your personal tastes are with regards to style AND safety while working, but I could be wrong. They do make one "crossover" saddles that have more western type fenders and this is not one of those.(thats the one you may be thinking of?? I've seen many "Aussie" saddles with horns in fact i was under the impression that the horned was the "normal" and the without horn was the "other choice" no judgement LOL but as i say, I'm not an expert....

i will post a few pics for clarification purposes:

Is this the crossover that you speak of??
this is my current saddle I'm selling with a horn in black. its BRAND new, this model exactly :) NOW the web site has choices for with or without horn, that's up to the buyer. to horn or not to horn that is the question LOL

taken out on my porch an hour ago. this is going to make some lucky person a GREAT saddle!!

this is a great saddle in like new condition. it's been used twice for short rides and well kept in a non smoking household. If you hare interested give me a call and well see what lind of a deal we can make. I'd take 150. cash or trade for Tb racing things nice leather halters rain blankets etc....or ??

I wish it wasn't a 19" I would take it in a second! But I ride in a 15" western and a 17.5" english so I think it would be way too big! It would actually be for my mom and but we are about the same size.

I don't know if this saddle has sold, but I just got this exact saddle in the endurance model (no horn or overgirth) with an 18" seat and have to say that for the price I am extremely impressed with the quality.
I haven't ridden in it yet but it's a nice solid thing and looks like a really good quality saddle. I added fleece sleeves to the stirrup "leathers" and changed out the stirrups for endurance stirrups. Everything is nice, tight and balanced. I just hope it fits my TWH. If it doesn't I think I will cry lol!

If anyone is looking for a low cost but good quality, lightweight Australian saddle I would recommend snagging this one :)

saddle is sold

thanks to everyone who made me an offer i just wanted to let anyone interested that the saddle is sold.

anyone wanting a cheap and durable and COMFORTABLE saddle would do well with this type of Aussie. they are tough as nails and have a really universal type fit. they are excelent for fresh or spooky horses as i don't see how you could fall off when using one, they really lock you in the saddle. :) well i might be able to fall off, but probably you wouldn't LOL.

happy shopping!
