Sure wish I had a fireplace. Raining buckets here, won't change over to snow till after midnight or later. Had french fries for supper. Tomorrow I'm going to make potato cheese soup and throw some broccoli and smoked sausage in it too. My go to when it's really cold.

Supposed to go down to 0 degrees here Sunday morning. As long as my pipes don't freeze, I will just enjoy the snow and cold. My Christmas present to myself was a pair of fur lined deerskin gloves......they will definitely get used the next few days.....IF I can keep them away from Ziva. The goofy dog thinks gloves are a chew toy to try and snatch off my hands. She's also a master pick pocket too!

Trying to watch The Emerald City on tv but it sure takes license with the original Dorothy, and there's no Toto too!! Back to Criminal Minds lol.
I thought about checking it out but Vincent D'orinofo or whatever his last name is just gives me the creeps for some reason, I've never been able to watch anything with him in it.

A client told me about a really great recipe she makes that her family requests. I was going to make it, for sure.

But by the time I got done with chores, I came home, had a toddy, and a toasted tuna sandwich sounded about right!

I've got the fireplace going and am ready to crash. It was 20 here today. The first day we've had a good spell of above zero. I'm a happy woman!

Well, we had eggs & fried potatoes earlier this afternoon so neither one of us wanted supper. When all you're doing is minimal chores and the rest of the time just hunkering in you don't work up too much of an appetite. I told hubby I'd make some popcorn if we got hungry later on since it's too late to eat a big meal. Nothing on the boob to watch so I'm just hanging out on the forum.
That's what this is all about.

Oh and news is about to come on here so will see what your folks this way are getting.

Yesterday I got the third season of Elementary and I binge watched it yesterday, since I'm not getting out much, it helped pass the day and still have some to watch today.

Potato soup sounds great and even tho' it's not Fri I will make some today. Haven't made it for ages, I guess I just needed the idea to get me motivated. This time of year is also great for the slow cooker, it smells so good all day while it's cooking.

We have 6 degrees F here today but sunny and not too windy so it's a pretty day, looking out from the nice warm house.

We had chili over Fritos last night. The gas-log fireplace had the house toasty warm!

This morning, though, the outside spigots are frozen closed so I ended up having to haul buckets of hot water to the horses' trough to melt the ice and give them water. I'll have to haul more out every couple hours unless/until the spigots unfreeze.

As for the hours I'm stuck inside - well, I found another good book to read, so I'll be off in some other world! ;-)

Don't know what it's going to be tonight. I would give good odds on leftover chili and hotdogs. It's not like I don't have the time or going anywhere.

i watched a lot of PBS today. Love Cooks Country and Americas Test Kitchen. Saw some antiques road show.

Right now watching Dr.Pol reruns of that remix show they do.

Here in Maryland, we had a few inches of snow, wind chill is a bitter 6 degrees!, Actual temp is 20 degrees.
I stayed inside and did work paperwork all day, as that was backed up. Ordered a few things I needed but couldn't find in the stores, per amazon. Made lists of things I need to do. Finally went outside to shovel snow off my driveway, and put down some pet safe de- icer pellets on the walkway.
I keep turkey chili I made and put in containers in the freezer. Thawed one container. Had that and wanted cheddar cheese, but only had Havarti, that was actually pretty good and melted well on the chili. Toasted a roll, and put honey and butter on it warm, yum! Arugula and tomato salad. A few spoonful's of choc chip gelato, just for sweet desert taste.
Made my egg and Havarti ( again no cheddar) on an English muffin sandwich for breakfast tomorrow, as I have to go to work at the crack of dawn.
Watching Wild card football playoffs this evening.
I tend to keep frozen pizza or get a fresh one from a pizza place before a big snowstorm. Frozen chicken noodle soup ready as needed . Girl scout cookies in the cabinet. Gas fireplace.

Hubby wanted to go to town tonight so we ate at the local diner. All you could eat chicken tenders (grilled, hand breaded, or batter dipped) + 2 sides and a roll for $7.99. Didn't want the grilled of course since it's healthier so got 1 breaded and 1 batter dipped. The breaded was the best. My sides were cole slaw and mashed potatoes & gravy. I ordered another breaded tender but it came home for the dog. He gets mad if you don't bring him back a treat. Then I watched bull riding. This weekend is the start of the season for that particular level.

The other one is fine for weather related stuff. Just thought I would open up one for general conversation on any subject for folks stuck inside tonight. Add anything you want.

What's for supper was always popular- what do you like on these type nights? I had chili but it was already made in freezer.

One odd thing I have noticed. A lot of sales calls. Sneaky companies must be following the weather.

How prepared do you normally stay for things like this. I can rustle up some flashlights, some candles if need be. Have a fireplace so won't freeze and can cook anything I want outside so I tend not to get all rushing to grocery store. But I don't have kids, that's a whole other ballgame.

Do you stayed glued to tv coverage? Right now I am flipping between that and Dinners Drive in and Dives. Not playing tournaments tonight figure lots of cancellations.

Anything else you want to throw in certainly doesn't have to be weather related, like how I love watching Gunsmoke reruns.
What is the weather in ATL? It get super icy there! Stay safe
I know the eastern USA got hit with a cold snap and snow, south of where I am got more snow. Wind chill here is -3 deg this morning, as I head out to work!

Sunday morning here and it's just starting to snow, cold 8 degrees F and a brisk NW breeze (which is bringing the snow off the lake). Hubby just went out to feed the cats and take them a warm drink and that's all the outside work done for the day, unless the hydro goes off.
I have two episodes of Elementary left to go then on to another set of DVD's. I get them from the Library and it is good to have them on days like this.

Putting a roast in the slow cooker for supper tonight, probably add potatoes and carrots later and the meal is all done in one pot.

Stay warm, the snow is increasing as I type and going by horizontally, if it gets really thick it will be a nasty day, good to stay home.

It's really cold right now where I am north of downtown supposed to have been in the single digits last night with wind chills worse than that.

We missed having it really bad. All the ingredients where there for major storm, just didn't work out that way here thank goodness.

We used to do it every week. Glad you joined in. Maybe we should do more often. I took a break mostly due to format change awhile back that made it difficult to use.

Awww, I'm a few days late. Well, we had about 1-2in of snow on Saturday. Didn't get to ride. Sunday was cold/windy too, also couldn't ride.
It's about 11F right now, LOL so cold! But Wed it's supposed to go up to like 50 & Thursday will be 58F...isn't that so crazy?
