@JCnGrace they have you well trained😂😂

It‘s bad enough where the deposit was left, then to step on the manure fork and say “I think not”” is pretty brazen😂😂

Whichever horse that is should clean up after itself, if it’s that smart😘😂😘😂

How‘s your weather? It was a hot and very humid August night last night. I set the fans to run in the horses until one this morning. Nashville broke a record with 99 and will likely break another record today, then we are supposed to plummet almost thirty degrees by tomorrow.

It was 94 where I live with a dewpoint in the 70’s - oh happy day but I’m trying not to whine too much as things could be a lot worse🥴🥴

@walkinthewalk , they do have me trained! LOL Cloud is standing on the scooper. I was trying to push some dry crush over a wet spot behind her, she backed up, managed to step right in the middle of the fork and then planted her foot. Flash backed up to poop behind the board in order to hide it because I had just yelled at Cloud for pooping where I'd already cleaned. "HELLO! I'm standing right here and can see you!" 🤣 He had to stand on his tippy toes to get it that high. You know how they say a herd of mares will synchronize their heat cycles? Well, mine poop on the same schedule. And to make matters worse it's almost a daily occurrence that they wait and do it where I'd just finished cleaning.

1. We hit 95 degrees yesterday, the dewpoint was 71 degrees and the temps were still 91 at 7:30 last night. It was still 75 at 5:30 this morning. Why I ran the fans on the horses until 1:00 AM, and we will stay in the 70’s all day. It will feel like Fall for the rest of the week. Maybe now I can get something done outside.

2. Yesterday I took my second bag of rolled oats back to TSC within three weeks. This bag looked ok but the mold smell hit my nose as soon as I opened the bag. I was not happy.

@stevenson that “Adrenalin pumping“ we talked about to undo stuff our husbands tighten down on was in full mode as I had to tape up a 50# bag of oats, get it to my car and lift it into the back seat; good thing my Saturn is a low rider.

Thennnnn, when two of the sales clerks smelled the oats they both claimed they couldn’t smell anything wrong🤯🤐🤯🤐.

I was even less happy about that. I said there is a strong moldy odor in that bag, oats are not supposed to have an odor. They traded me for a good bag of oats, which the girl sliced open before I took it. I bought some other stuff but still left there P.O.’d.

I will be calling TSC’s customer service mostly for the second bag of bad oats because there were no tears in the bags, the product was bad from from the manufacturing plant. I did some digging and discovered that Producers Pride is manufactured by a division of Purina, who has been on my black list for years.

I have other options to buy rolled oats but it will take me out of my way by a good amount and that does not set well with me either.

I doubt there’s any horse owner on this forum, who has had horses at home for any length of time that hasn’t had to return bad feed, and knows how frustrating it is. It‘s been many many years since I have had to worry about a bad bag of anything because I buy everything on line for my easy keepers—— Duncan is NOT an easy keeper and eats completely different from Rusty🥴🥴

3. My vacuum bag is full of mostly black dog hair, so I have to change that in order to to continue one of my favorite (not) things, lol

4. I have to mow but not because the real grass grew. That worthless Dallis grass is once again towering over the real grass and all this heat has caused the pods to start seeping again.

5. Venting & whining done; I truly am thankful that’s all I have to complain about, lol.

Duncan enjoying his chiropractic treatment. It is something to watch whena horse first says “no that hurts”. Then when the hurt leaves, the light goes on and they say “ok! More!” 😍😍

I didn‘t even have to hold Duncan🥰

It's been a couple years ago but, I got got a bad bag or Purina Strategy feed. I returned it as it smelled when I opened it. When I took it back they next bag was out of the same batch and we opened it and it didn't smell right. They had a couple bags from a different batch and they smelled normal so I got those. I like The Strategy and have had no trouble since.

The dog hair in the sweeper happens here every time I vacuum. Luckily our new sweep has a canister that you can see it and with two inside dogs I get a full hair canister every sweeping. It's so easy to dump though compared to the old bag sweeper I'm glad we got it but, am surprised by the amount of hair I get.

@ksbowman I have spent too much money on vacuumss that are easy for me to maneuver. When it’s all said and done, I still go back to my 20 year old Sears Kenmore upright that can still pull the skin up on the Rottenweiler, lollol.

I keep the hose attachment on it , to get baseboards and in corners. I drag the clunky thing around because it still picks up dog hair from any surface the best. I’m sure I could find something that worked as good or better and was easier to manage for a couple thousand dollars, but I’m too old to spend that on a vacuum cleaner that would likely outlive me😂😂

@walkinthewalk , I have learned that most of the sales clerks that work at TSC dont know what a bag of feed is suppose to smell like are look like, they are mostly city folk working there. Like today we went in TSC so I could get a Bucket and some chicken feed and the clerks were happy to tell us that some of the protein tubs had come in that I have been needing for a few months so bought 4 of them welp wrong tubs, hubby caught that when they were loading them they were cattle not horse, so had to go back in the store to get a refund on the tubs that we had payed for, lol, the girls were so sorry for the screw up but thats ok I told them, but please if 16% tubs do happen to come in to please call so we came haul booty to the store and get some, they sell the tubs out as soon as they get them unloaded, so fingers cross I get a call for the tubs..
I understand how you feel, I have had to take products back a few times over the years because they were bad and the people that worked there at that time could not tell the difference between the good and the bad.. Yep, I would get really frustrated when they would say theres nothing wrong the feed, I would just tell them Wrong I'm returning this and getting a different one, they would turn their nose up at me like I was a crazy person, Sorry BUD but not feeding this spoil feed to any of my animals..
Yep, Producers Pride is Purina's product that they make for TSC, its the lower end of Purina, LIKE wayyy lower end!!!

The only time I got any moldy feed from TSC was when it actually had rained and they had roof leak. The kid went into the stock room and brought out bags that had been wet. I said to him I do not want to poison and kill my horses. Do you have a manager? I chewed that managers butt. Well after a bit here comes another guy with a flat of senior feed, that had been stored in a different area that was not near the leak. Bags were dry, I triple checked . I made a big enough fit at the manager we had a small audience. Everyone started checking their feed bags. It comes down to training and how much time they want to spend training. I hate lazy clerks. I will tell a manager about a good clerk .
My hubby did find some wheat bran that was clean .
Our weather had been in the 80's but with some humidity for us and will now be up into the 90's almost 100 again . Summer stays here until late October. Northern CA got some rain . We got a sprinkle . There were 3 nights I could turn off the air conditioner and open windows. IT should help reduce the pge bill.
Property tax bill came today. Oh joy. Up $800.00 a year and it is far more than the one percent they claim. I hate this state. So many rotten politicians on a local and state level.

A few months ago this happened, I bought some senior feed and it was moldy, the bag was dry though, and I bought it a few times after and still moldy, it ticked me off.

@stevenson am I reading correctly? Your R/Etaxes went up by $800😳😳. Ours also went up but by $100 I think. It’s gone up a total of $500 in the 19 years we’ve been here and I’m not happy about that. We have enough farming acreage to qualify for the Green Belt or it would be a lot worse.

I’m pretty sure the hired help at all of the TSC stores think we should just be happy with any old bag of feed or throw it out if it‘s bad and take the money hit — 🤐🤯🤐🤯

The only feed I buy is sweet feed for the milk cow and the small scoop the horses get before being ridden. If it is bad, I just throw it to the chickens.

yes . The real estate taxes. it sure is not the 1% they say it will go up . I am so tired of this state with its corrupt officials, from county to the state. They stopped oil where most of the county revenue came from , so they have it to get it somewhere. 13 taxes for schools. Its ridiculous. They need to take the school bonds/taxes off property and just add it at the end of the year on taxes . So people whom rent are not paying for the schools their kids attend !

Don’t get me started on renters not paying their fair share of school taxes😡. The RE tax increase before this one went for a big addition to one of the schools.

Retired people should not be footing the bill for schools they don't have children in. People who have children should be footing those tax increases, regardless of whether they own real estate or not.
