I like to go to Horse Sales for fun and I see a lot of neat horses here in N. Texas. I seem some names that sound familiar popping up in the pedigrees but I don't know much about them other than they are usually NCHA names.
Sure enough, these horses are always a little on the small side. Usually very soft in the bridle and agile. The owners are always high on them and seem reluctant to sell for less than 3,000+. Many have come straight from a cattle outfit.
Thing is, I usually don't find the horse's name that is being sold on any pedigree website. Usually I only find some of the lineage, the ones with the name that grab your attention.
Example:
Nice ranch horse at recent sale
I'm not trying to call this person out, nice guy and a great horse. Just looking for opinions on this type of thing. I am looking to buy a horse like this for a nice novice All Around in a a year or so (Ranch Sorting, Cutting, Reined Cow Horse, Versatility) and just trying to build up my knowledge on it.
Thanks in advance
