My new horse is pretty ADD, when I'm riding in the arena if there is horses going by or people going by he has to look at them. He doesn't spook, just gets distracted. He is also that way on the ground, but I don't mind it as much there. I have never dealt with a horse that's so easily distracted. He will be bending great and working great then something will catch his attention. So then I have to start over again. Currently when he gets distracted I'll tell instead of ask and reward him when he comes back to me and I try to keep our "conversation" lively. Any suggestions? I also thought about putting him in French blinkers, just to see if they help. I would slowly wean him out of them though as they're not something I would want him in permanently.
