I have recently bought a yearly paint. He seems perfectly healthy except for a lot of nasel discharge which is quite think and yellow. (snot)
His appetitie is fine but he does have a bit of a cough sometimes.
If this common of youngsters or has anyone else had similar?
I have had the vet out twice. The 1st one said it will probably sort itself out and the 2nd one said I can have tests done to see if he has a virus. The tests will cost £500/$825. I don't really have the money to waste but I will do it if he needs it.
If anyone has any thought on this I would be grateful for your advice.

Wow, I would look for a third vet. That is an aweful lot of money just to run some blood tests but it sounds to me like he has some kind of illness and if he has been like this for any length of time at all, then it will not sort itself out. He needs treatment.

you certainly need a vet to run tests. Snotty noses and coughs aren't something that sort themselves out, especially if it is a lot of discharge as you say. Does he have a vaccine history?

I agree with both the above - I would consult another vet to check what their fees would be because this is not something that should be left alone to sort itself out. How long have you had him? Was he showing these symptoms when you bought him? Did you have a pre-purcase exam done on him?
