So I am having a hard time finding a correctly fitting cutter saddle for my filly.. I have an HR ranch cutter that I absolutely love, the thing is it doesn't fit her well.. It seems too wide (she is going to be 5 years old at the end of January) and it just seems too wide for her. I have a Tucker trail saddle that is a "medium" tree and that one fits her great... I think that those Tucker "M" size saddles are like semi-QH bar saddle..not a full (their full bar is their wide)..
I have been looking at cutter saddles but I am having hard time finding anything in semi-QH version - all if them are with a full bar!
Can you guys advise what make cutter saddles run little narrower? (I don't want a vintage 15+ old saddle), nice saddle decent quality (I love HR quality yet they don't break the bank - new saddle with flank cinch and matching breast collar was $1600) - I would be using at a used saddle for about $1000 - $1300 for the right one
- I have looked at used Jeff Smith saddles - but they also seem to come in full QH bar one from the ones that I've seen...
In the mean time I am riding her in the Tucker - surprisingly my saddlebred fits the HR really well.. he's got really wide round barrel though and is 16HH+ horse... My filly is going on 5 and is 14.1 - 14.2HH cutting bred - muscly but just doesn't have a huge back.. Also I like to ride in 16.5" - 17" seat saddle is that going to be a problem to find such cutter saddle in semi-QH bar that would fit her?
