I was just wondering what people think about the disease AHS. It is particually worrying for horse owners in the uk as due to climate change we are being threatened with an outbreak of ahs. It is expected to wipe out half of the uk's horse world, If an outbreak were to occur. Its a worrying disease as horses can die within 4 hours of contracting the virus. Any opinions welcome, also has anyone had to deal with an outbreak before?

I did a little bit of research and what I am seeing is that it is not a threat to the UK at all and if it were there are vaccines for the virus.

Actually the vaccines are not licenced in the uk. And i have read several articles about the worries of ahs in the uk, they are astronomical

Yeah there are vaccines, but that dosent mean the horse wont contract it after getting the vaccine. They just have better chance of fighting it off.
