Another horrible accident

Hi all. My instructor messaged me late one Sunday afternoon (it was the afternoon of Badminton cross country) to say that there had been a horrible accident at the show today.
One of the ladies had been jumping of in the show. Her horse had a heart attack and on track and fell on top of her.
The horse sadly passed away at the scene. My friend was air lifted to hospital and is now in an induced coma with bleeding on the brain.
I had been there on the Saturday and they were riding dressage. Everything looked fine.
We are so worried as she has been in a coma for going on 3 weeks. It hits home for me having survived a head injury almost 3 years ago.
Not to upset anyone but we are praying.

I am so so sorry to hear that. That is such a horrible accident. I'll keep her in my thoughts and prayers. Hope all goes well for her.

I have to say my heart fell to my feet when I read the title of your post. I was so worried that YOU had had a horrible accident after your past horrible accident. As well as praying for Linda, I am saying a prayer of thanks that YOU did not have a horrible accident when you have to be so careful.

Right on @My Salty Pony!

This is a go-to prayer for me that takes in the patient's support network, too, as you mentioned... Often used for those going to have surgery, but would be good for Linda as well.

May God who was a source of blessing for our ancestors, bring blessings of healing upon (Linda daughter of X), a healing of body and a healing of spirit. May those in whose care they are entrusted, be gifted with wisdom and skill, and those who surround them, be gifted with love and trust, openness and support in their care. And may they be healed along with all those who are in need. Blessed are you God, Source of healing. Amen.

For Linda, I substituted Sarah (our Matriarch) as her Mother's name.

She has been off sedation for about 5 days and hasn't woken up but she is showing some signs of movement. Apparently it can take up to 10 days to wake up.
SaddleLife she is in her 50's which doesn't make it easier.

Well, at least she is showing improvement and that's a good thing.
