Hi there!
Well, just thought I'd share with you my OTHER hobby (aside from horse riding, of course!) - dancing!
I was wondering if there's anyone else out there that have the dancing bug and would LOVE it if you'll share your stories/photos/videos etc.

I've been dancing for almost two years now, in three categories - Modern, Contemporary and Hip Hop (just for fun!).
Here's a video of our last rehearsal before my first ever dance concert (2008 concert). I've moved up to the advanced classes now, but these were a good bunch of girls.

Aaaand a little photo of us before the concert (I'm third from the right! :lol - don't mind the costumes! It was contemporary, so they're always gonna be a classic! Hahahah There's also photos of me in a LILAC leotard, but as IF they're coming out! I'll take them to the grave!

Hope all those dancer's out there (you know who you are! :wink could show themselves and share with me!

i used to dance
I did some ballet and some jazz, i do love to dance but i find myself now to self consious to do it sometimes, so if i dance anywhere it is in my ROOM ! LOL
i was hoping to do hiphop again last year though and if i were lucky belly dancing !

I used to do ballet, jazz and contemporary but I stopped last year. I miss it a bit, but I've just got too much on my plate with horses. I'll have to track down the video of my contemporary solo, I loved that dance. I did it to 'Waiting on The World to Change' by John Mayer.
Ha, I've danced in some funny costumes. I've been in a flight attendant one, a sparkly blue leotard, a mouse one.
I think I will take up dancing again when I get the time.

I love dancing.
At the moment I can't afford any lessons but I danced Hip Hop and have been dancing since I was 5. I quit last year. I really want to have lessons again :'(
I would love to learn how to dance contemporary, but I'm super unflexable.

Here's a video of my last show. It went horribly xD 2 groups were put together so there were way too many of us on stage and I was extremely stiff and my back hurt, so I didn't do my best at all! lol...
(the quality is crap and my mom isn't very good at filming. haha)

I did ballet when I was a little girl like 5 or so but the tutu scared me and the fabric gave me a rash, the hairspray for performances made my eyes swell shut and I was just very unhappy and I was ridiculed because I couldn't do the splits. Then I took jazz which was fun until the teacher got preggers and canceled all classes. Skip up to the early teens I took swing, modern dance, ballroom and a little contemporary. And now I'm a pole dance fitness instructor. I like this one the best, I've always been big on climbing things and hanging upside down. My friends say I'm a monkey.

I have always wanted to do that! Ever since I went to Marrakesh in Disney World when I was a kid. They don't have it where I am located but both the towns my husband is applying to law school in have belly dance instructors, so I hope to start next year or the year after.

last year i used to ukrainian dance, yes ukrainian dance lol, i miss it a bit but i quit because lots of the ppl in our group were leaving so there was only my two friends left over. its kinda hard to dance when there is only three ppl in a group lol instead of eight. we could have done trio dances tho. ive gone to competition too.

its very fun, LOTS of moves but they arent hard to remember. u have to be precise tho and point your toes a certain way, and ya, im sure just like all other sorts of dancing. and there is certain regions in ukraine such as the Pultava region, Transcarpathian, Hutzel(hoot- zul) and many others. each region has their own moves and each dance u do, is from one of the many regions. and they each have they're own costumes and such. its very fun, i miss it actually and am considering rejoining again

I do Zumba not really dance more like fun excercise set to latin music. It is a blast.

Oh! I heard about Zumba! It was on one of those late night ads or something. Is it good? Do you go to classes or do you have the home video set?

I go to class twice a week. It is a real workout, we work our core, quads arms, shoulders and, glutes in an hour and :lol: I hate to excersize. But, if I don't get my "Zumba" time......I am all out of sorts for days:twisted:. I am sure that there are classes near you go to www.zumba.com and search for one. I am toying with the idea of becoming an instructor myself.

I know! I'm having a nervous breakdown not being able to exercise, because of my injured knee! I'm a fairly energetic person, I was doing netball on mondays, dancing on tuesdays and thursdays and horseriding all week end!! Now, I sit on an exercise bike at home and SLOWLY cycle around, stretching my leg muscles. ugh. I can't wait till I'm healthy enough to be able to get back into it!!
