Just wondering if anyone on here lived the wythe, floyd, carrol, bland, grayson areas of Virginia? We were down in Ivanhoe early this spring at Hungry Horse East and fell in love with the area. (Anyone that hasn't been to the area, I highly recommend Hungry Horse, the owners are wonderful, wonderful people!) The amount of trails there (compared to here) was unreal!! We have been talking about moving to the area since then. I was hoping maybe someone was from the area that could tell us more about the horse and non-horse communities there. Also wondering what the job market would be for us down there (we have a landscaping/small excavating business- driveways, gravel shed pads, bush hogging, plant installations, rock walls, brush clearing, mulching, tree trimming, yard cleanups...etc etc pretty much a little of everthing!).

My spouse and his family are from the part of Virginia, we have property there.

Beautiful, beautiful country, and yes, amazing trails and places to ride.

Low taxes, low cost of living. Also very poor, no jobs, not a lot of people with discretionary income.

We may retire there, but I would not move there without a guaranteed source of income.
