Hello , I was just looking for some first hand information on the easyboot and if anyone has used this or somthing similar instead of shoes ? Do they always fit as the feet change shape ? Im thinking about it for my geld wich my partner barely rides so maybe some boots for when he does decide to go out and about instead of forking out 65 quid every 8 weeks for metal shoes when he rides about once twice a month other wise his feet are fine for being unshod in the field but he can get a little bit sore on the stones when out riding - would they be suitable for this purpose ??? i have read about them but you only really get the good reviews on the site and i would like to see how someone else has got on with them first hand =) Thanks soo much !

I haven't used them yet, but I'm looking at Easyboot Gloves (I think that's the ones). A friend in CA uses them and loves them.

I use Easyboots on my gelding on trail rides since he is laminitic and gets tender footed on rocky ground. I have two sizes, so one pair should fit whenever I need!

I also love the easy boot gloves because they are very light and low profile, although I've tried many and had great success. I also do the right natural barefoot trim too though, and sadly not many people do which is why they usually come across fitting issues. I hope this helps.

I have the Old Macs (though I believe they are discontinued?). I love the comfort knowing that my mare's feet are protected. However, after 2 pretty intense all day rock-climbing trails, they were trashed! Did not hold up and are unusable now. I was glad for them at the time, for sure! But expensive trail rides, no doubt.

You need to measure his hooves right after a trim. If you invest in a good rasp you can touch up his hooves every week to keep the boots fitting.

I use Easyboot Epics on Claymore and Freyja whenever I ride off property, and love them. As Not a fan of the Easyboot Bares at all, as they are not terribly easy to adjust. I haven't used the Gloves at all so can't vouch for them. Easyboots are worth trying out to see if they work for your horse - they hold their resale value well if they don't work out.

Another brand of boot I haven't tried yet but is getting a lot of good reviews are the Cavallos - I think I will probably be buying a pair to try out in the near future.

As Saddlebag mentioned, if you have them properly fitted right after a trim, you will have ones that fit correctly, but if you allow your horse to become overgrown they will not fit anymore.

I tried them about 25 years ago. Got it half way on & could not get it off. They were the old style with big teeth that dug into the hoof. I tossed it in the woods somewhere. I wouldn't do that now, I'd throw it away properly.
I'm sure they're better now. They look way easier.

I haven't tried them yet but I probably will soon. I am leaning a little more towards the Cavallos because they look much easier to put on.
