Apple cider vinegar is sweeter than white vinegar and might attract the flies instead of repel them. This is just what I have heard

 

That is also what I heard, but whenever I ask around people don't really have a good answer.

I use it on both my horses & when I was selling Spyder it had rained, she had played in the rain while Mystic had been on the porch staying dry..... the next day Spyder was being ate up from flies & Mystic had almost none. It works great for me & mine. I have even sprayed myself when the biting knats wouldnt leave me alone..... worked like a dream.

I use it. It works as well as any store bought fly spray. There are still flies, but the number is greatly reduced. The only bug it doesn't seem to affect is horse flies.

In my experience the flies pretty much become immune to it after awhile.
