Is she just as respectful in an open arena? it looks like a sweet mare. Very pretty to! great work! I would love to be able to do that with both our horses, and definitely will look into making it a goal. Both horses are handled and worked with only by us, and have a really special relationship with both of them. Great video! pretty neat relationship you have with your mare.

Thats amazing! I haven't ridden bare back and bridleless properly yet with my mare. We tried it a few times but she doesn't know any leg commands etc. She just zig zags through the arena like she doesn't know what to do haha! I'm trying to train her to listen to leg commands though! I second pony boy, what did you do to make her stop? Your horse has a really nice canter, nice and slow.

Yes, she's very respectful in an open space too. We don't have an arena, but I've used the little pasture (about the same size) as one, the only difference being there was another horse in it, lol. I've also ridden her in the 3-acre pasture before, and all was well until I stopped her and let her eat some grass while I was still on her back...that was a bad idea, because then she didn't want to go again. XD That was a long time ago, though... 2 years ago, if I remember correctly. She's way better now, and I don't let her eat grass when I'm on her back anymore, haha. But yes, in an arena, she is very good, the same as in the round pen. In a 3-acre pasture...well, we'll be trying that again soon, I hope.

ponyboy, you can't hear it in the video very well, but I said "And...walk." That's the cue to come down to a walk.

JessCeri, your horse is beautiful! I love the jumping! Destiny was really easy to train to leg commands...I think it must be the pressure. She knows she has to go somewhere, and forward doesn't work. She learned really quickly that when she turned correctly, the pressure was released. She catches on fast to some things...and not so much to other things. XD Yeah, she's a western horse so she tends to lope nice and slow. I love the speed of it, but it's quite bouncy sometimes. It's harder for me to ride her lope bareback than her trot! Lol!
