Hello,
I have recently been offered a job as a barn manager over the summer. I have no experience with barn management, but I have been riding horses for close to 9 years now (competing in A and AA horse shows and now riding for the University I am currently attending).
I am going to be paid a flat rate to run (teach kids and help with arts/crafts, etc.) four camp sessions the barn is hosting which cost roughly $250 per camper and last from 9am to 4pm. I also get $10 per lesson per student and free rent for a one bedroom apartment on site.
In addition to giving lessons and running the camps, I will also be schooling 3 to 4 horses daily, cleaning the barn, mucking stalls, turning out, feeding in the evenings, etc. I will get 2 days off from feeding a week.
Thoughts? I need some advice! Thank you!
