SpiritHorse - Is this the first time you've seen it?? The narrator person did a great job and I really like that part aswell, of course its the part I have trouble with :p But its getting there!

I haven't seen the video, but all the footage and narration is from past promo DVDs Parelli came out with to advertise their tour stops a couple years ago. I was an Ambassador when the DVDs were released and they went very quickly!

The horse jumping the picnic table was NOT happy and looking like it was thinking of bucking.

I wouldn't have included that if I was them!

That was back many many years ago before Linda and Remmer both were more balanced. She doesn't jump like that anymore, she's a beautiful jumper and Remmer loves it :)

After rewatching that youtube segment ,it reminded me that a lot of that footage was from the PA Parelli tour at the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg!
Sam Caporn will be doing demos there at the Horse Expo in a couple of weeks and they are going to have a Parelli booth! In the past they have had all kinds of cool prizes you could win. One year I got a calendar just for being a savvy club member : )

I agree.

It's not the first or only video I've seen from the PP crew with horses taking some really bad spots when jumping over the picnic tables and cow-spotted barrels. Lots of irritated-looking horses, too.:-|

Magic is not unhappy....she's an INCREDIBLY sensitive and damaged horse, and while Pat has done WONDERS with her, she still has insecurities that will probably always be with her. She's a RBI by nature, to the extreme sometimes, which makes her very challenging. So what might seem unhappy could actually be insecurity/unconfidence that she is showing as displaced behavior. I actually love watching Pat be so subtle about helping her gain confidence, you hardly know he's doing it, but soon Magic settles down.

I guess I missed something because it just seemed like a commercial to me. I didn't see anything so beautiful about it.

Not particularly impressed by this ad, but I KNOW THAT VOICE! He's one of the famous nature documentary voices. I wonder how much they paid him for this.

Rebecca - I see what you saying. But I mean like when doing piaffe and stuff the ears are pinned and theres a lot of chomping and tail swishing. I know the chomping is deffinately a displaced behavior but the tail and ears? I think it was on youtube some where. When I get the motivation ill look for it.

It's gotten a lot better. He used to be too "loud" for her but he's softened up a lot. A lot of times her ears are back but not pinned....it's a very challenging thing for her to do so she listens intently. She's a very claustrophobic horse by nature, and Pat just being on her back is a lot (but not as much as it used to be by any means!) so when you add leg aides and rein aides and asking her to do an advanced maneuver like that, it's a lot for her to handle. Pat does a great job with her, though!
